Marco, member of our tennis team, is away this summer to be a rafting instructor for 4 months in Bovec, Slovenia. Some guys from the team and me decided to pay him a visit, to see what has become of one of our star players! Of course we tested his skills by having him guide us on a canyoning tour and rafting expedition. We even got to play some tennis on the last day. Unfortunately, my camera broke down in the rain during the canyoning trip, so there are only a few pictures. Enjoy the rest of the stay Marco and see you next month! |

Last weekend we went waterskiing with a group of around 10 people. It was my first go at it in around 10 years, so it took me a while to find the right balance again. After some practice I managed to stay up and enjoy a couple of rounds. Yeehaa!! :) Pictures here! |

Last year the Radboud University started a new project to raise the level of interest in beta studies. The project, named CodeYard, provides a platform for students to develop open source software. Capgemini was involved by sponsorship and opened up an award race for the best project. Last Friday the final was held back at Capgemini HQ. Everybody was doing their best to win the Capgemini Open Source Award 2006. Very cool to see all those innovative ideas and the enthusiasm of the participants. I wish I could present like that at the age of 17! Pictures here. In the end, the WebID project, creating an distributed authentication protocol/implementation for the internet, won! Congratulations guys!! |

Yesterday it was time to pay up a promise: Take Yves out to a day of fun at the Efteling, one of Holland's best attraction parks. Although the sky looks a bit grey in the pictures, the weather was great! It turned out to be relatively quiet in the park, so we enjoyed just about every attraction we could, from the Fairytale Woods to the Python rollercoaster, from the Carnaval Festival to the Bobsled. A great present, which we hope Yves enjoyed as well.... |

This week I went to Barcelona to deliver a speech at the Gartner Open Source Summit. The weather was beautiful and the hotel that I stayed in was terrific! It was only one and a half day, so not too much free time unfortunately. The only thing I actually got to see was the beach, where I enjoyed some tapas. Some of the rare pictures here. Oh well, at least a good reason to go back some time ;) |
