Whew, finally some time to put the Paris pictures online. Last week we went there, together with Roy and Anne. We drove on Friday night, spent Saturday at Disneyland Paris, Sunday in Paris and headed on back the same night. Saturday at Disney was fun. There were some moments of sun, but it was mostly cloudy. But lots of things to do! In the evening we had dinner near the Champs d'Elyssee, where football fans dominated the streets. Apparently Paris won some national cup or something and it was filled with enthousiastic fans, flags and fire works. Not all too friendly however. Unfortunately the weather on Sunday was terrible and we only saw the outside of the Louvre museum. Standing in line for the ticket-office would have caused either a terrible cold or grave uncomfort if we were to soak the Mona Lisa during conversation. Better luck next time. Pictures here. |

This year started off the best way you can imagine. A whole week of sun, swimming, snorkling and visits to beautiful places around Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt. After being home for over a week I finally found some time to upload all the pictures.

Last week it was time to deliver Inge's birthday present: a weekend of relaxation in Luxembourg. We went to see the city a bit, toured its surroundings and checked out one of the legacies of the Dutch royal family: Castle Vianden. Although the weather wasn't great, it was mostly dry and we got a good impression of the capital and the country itself. Very nice! Pictures here. |

Yesterday evening Jamie Cullum gave a concert at Vorst Nationaal in Brussels. We wanted to go to the Dutch concerts, but they were sold out, so off to Brussels we went. The show started with Gabriel Rios, a Belgian singer from Puerto Rico. Great music and sense of rhythm, but unfortunately he can not be compared to Jamie. Jamie's show can be summarised by only two words: Fantastic Energy. Wow, what a performer! With a mix of jazz, pop and funk Jamie gets the entire crowd going. There was even a special guest performance by jazz legend Toots Thielemans, with which he did two songs. All the time Jamie dances and jumps from left to right on stage, bangs on some drums or even taps the greatest rhythm on the top wood of his piano. "Catching Tales"? "Catch A Breath" would be more appropriate! Of course, lots of photos, some of which you can see here. Shame you can't hear the music that goes along with it though!! |
